Gov't accepts assumptions to greenhouse gas allowance trading bill
Polish government wants to book receipts from selling CO2 emission allowances as budget revenues, but will allocate at least 50% of the amount to climate policy, the government said in a statement on the assumptions for the bill on trading system of the greenhouse gases allowances.

The new legislation will also provide select industries, such as cement production, copper, copper mining, with free allowances, to prevent their flight to countries with no CO2 limits, the statement shows.

The new legislation is needed to comply with the EU law.
