LOT’s Dreamliners to resume flights on June 5
The Polish national airline PLL LOT will resume flights of its two berthed Boeing Co's 787 Dreamliners on June 5, LOT said on Thursday.
The planes, which were grounded at Chicago's O'Hare Airport and Chopin Airport in Warsaw in January because their lithium-ion batteries got overheated, will be repaired in Ethiopia.
The third plane with a new battery system will come to Poland in late May. The fourth Dreamliner is expected in Poland in July and the fifth one in August. LOT has ordered eight Dreamliners.
LOT's 787s will at first fly from Warsaw to Chicago and later to New York, Toronto and Beijing.
