Poland to pick pension reform scenario by end-August: Prime Minister

The Polish government will choose the scenario of the upcoming pension system reform by the end of August, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said during a Tuesday press conference.

"We will be ready with the choice of scenario by end-August, probably not with specific bill provisions, but with a decision in which direction we will head," Tusk said.

Poland presented three potential scenarios of the pension system reform on June 26. The scenarios include liquidation of the Treasury-bond portfolio of private pension funds OFE, while raising OFE premium to 2.92%, and two solutions assuming free choice between OFE and state social security office ZUS.
