4th of July Bash

A crowd of American and Polish businesspeople, politicians diplomats, their friends and families gathered at Warsaw’s Polonia Stadium July 6 to mark U.S. Independence Day, which in the United States is traditionally celebrated on the fourth of July. The picnic guests were greeted by Joseph Wancer, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Poland, and AmCham Executive Director Dorota Dabrowski. A family duo of Siona Neale and Maxwell Majewski sang the American anthem while a unit of U.S. Marines presented the colors.

U.S. ambassador Stephen Mull addressed the crowd with a short speech. After the official part of the picnic, guests watched several sporting events, including a football game and a routine by the Warsaw Eagles cheerleaders. Children were entertained in a special kids’ area.

The highlight of the picnic was a performance by opera diva Małgorzata Walewska and harpist Anna Faber. The organizers also held a raffle, the proceeds of which will be donated to charity by the AmCham Foundation. The picnic ended with a spectacular fireworks display by the Vistula River.
