Poland may offer tender for international passenger transport
PKP Intercity, passenger transport unit of state railways PKP, may face competition as the ministry of infrastructure is working on a bill enabling running a tender offer for international passenger transport.

At present, long-distance railway transport services are delivered by PKP Inrtercity, which receives some PLN 50 million subsidy from the state.

The new bill paves the way for competition, an MP from ruling Civic Platform (PO) and a member of lower house infrastructure commission Stanislaw Lamczyk said.
