Those Magnificent Men...

An exhibition about Polish aviation entitled Red and White Up in the Blue is on show in front of the Presidential Palace on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street in Warsaw until Monday, June 30.

The exhibition, whose name refers to the red-and-white Polish national flag, is accompanied by an online project (www.bialo-czerwona.org), designed to showcase great Poles and their achievements.

The exhibition focuses on Polish aviation pioneers, inventors and airplane, balloon, glider and paraglider pilots. It ranges from those who helped shape aviation in the early 20th century to contemporary competition and airline pilots. The exhibition looks back at the historical accomplishments of Polish airmen and takes in recent victories in aviation competitions such as the Gordon Bennett Cup. Visitors can also learn about Polish aircraft, their designers and the test pilots who have flown them.
