mBank sports 5pct q/q corporate loan book growth in Q2
Large-cap bank mBank recorded a 5% quarter on quarter increase in corporate loan portfolio in Q2 and should continue to enjoy good growth, possibly above 5-10% year on year, in H2 2014, deputy CEO Przemyslaw Gdanski said on Friday.

"Initial estimates suggest that in Q2 we had a solid, single-digit growth: if I say that it will be a 5% growth compared to the first quarter, I will not be far off," Gdanski told PAP Polish news agency on the sidelines of the European Financial Congress in the coastal city of Sopot. "Since the beginning of the year growth has amounted to 8%."

Volume growth in the corporate segment should persist in H2 thanks to improving macroeconomic environment, the official said.

"This year GDP growth should amount to over 3% [and] macro perspectives are good also for next year," he said. "We have low interest rates, banks are willing to finance entrepreneurs. We have entered a path of accelerated economic activity, as well as an increase of investments of the private sector."

Volume growth in corporate loans on the market "may be higher than 5-10%" and mBank wants to grow in line with peers, he added.
