Discovery wants share in Polish market of transmission rights to sports events
American mass media company Discovery Communications, which has just acquired Eurosport, intends to fight for a slice of Polish cake of transmission rights to sports events, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza writes citing Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

Eurosport is Poland's third most watched sports channel in the 16-49 age group, behind a Cyfrowy Polsat channel Polsat Sport and the public broadcaster's TVP Sport.

The market is broad enough for various stations to succeed, Zaslav said.
