San Leon continues to seek commercial shale gas flows from Lewino-1G2

Oil & gas exploration firm San Leon Energy said to be well advanced in planning the next horizontal well at Lewino-1G2 after the November frack and is selecting the next location for the final Rogity-1 well at Braniewo S license, the firm said in comments to the 2013 financial report out Monday.

The November frack of the Lewino-1G2 well resulted in "plans for drilling a horizontal multi-fracked well from the same location to try to prove commerciality of the play," comments read. "The next well is expected to have a horizontal section of up to 2,000 meters and planning is now well advanced."

The firm is waiting for the results of multi fracked horizontal wells of BNK Petroleum and 3Legs/ConocoPhillips, who have ongoing well work surrounding the area where the Lewino-1G2 well is located.

On its other license Braniewo S, San Leon is evaluating positive results of the three hydraulic fracture treatments at the Rogity-1 well "with a view to selecting the next well location to complete the farm-in work program," the firm also announced.

San Leon successfully completed a vertical shale well test at the Lewino-1G2 well on its Gdansk W concession in January this year, calling it "the most encouraging vertical shale well test in Poland to date." The firm said it could likely prove commercial flows from Lewino-1G2 well by October following a planned ten-stage frack of a planned horizontal well.
