Power company PKE nets PLN 230.3 mln in the first half of 2005
Poland's second largest power generating company, PKE, netted PLN 230.3 mln in H1 2005, but its H2 result will be much lower and the company should record FY 2005 net profit of PLN 250 mln, a company spokesperson told PAP.

"We are maintaining our guidance of achieving a PLN 250 mln net profit in 2005," Pawel Gniadek said. "The peculiarities of the power generating sector make costs in the second half of the year higher due to renovation activities."

PKE is a group of eight power and heat generators located in the south of Poland. In 2004, the group netted PLN 297 mln. The group owns 16% of Poland's power generation capacity.
