Hate crime on the rise

The number of hate crimes in Poland is increasing with 1,631 such cases dealt with by the prosecutor's office in 2016, up by 83% year on year, Rzeczpospolita daily writes, citing a report by the prosecutor's office.

The number of cases where Muslims were targeted rose to 362 from 192 in 2015.

Also, in more cases than previously physical violence and threats are involved, which means that the perpetrators are using increasingly violent methods, the report shows.
