Poles against stricter abortion rules

Over 70% of Poles including 42% of supporters of ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) oppose introduction of stricter abortion laws forbidding pregnancy termination in the event of serious and incurable foetal abnormality, a survey by pollster IBRiS for daily Rzeczpospolita shows.
The results spell problems for PiS, which may consequently seek to avoid political responsibility for potential tightening of abortion laws as foreseen by bills currently tackled by the lower house and the Constitutional Tribunal.
