Poland's cabinet approves draft bill on renewables

The Polish government approved a draft bill amending law on renewable energy sources, the Ministry of Energy and government press office announced in separate press statements.

The draft bill encompasses three amendments: to the law on renewable energy sources, to the law on wind farm investments and to the construction law, with the latter two cases concerning changes in the wind farm construction and taxation regulations.
"The new regulations will contribute to a more effective usage of renewable energy sources, fulfillment of international commitments [rising the share of renewables in the total energy consumption to 15% by 2020], as well as increasing the use of by-products from agriculture and industry utilizing agricultural resources in energy-related goals," the Ministry of Energy said.
