Expert on GDP growth

Poland's GDP growth is seen at 4.9-5.0% year on year in Q1 2018, Bank Millennium chief economist Grzegorz Maliszewski tells the daily Parkiet. Polish economy might grow somewhat slower in the next quarters following a slowdown in the euro zone, including Germany, he adds. Poland's consumption growth is likely to decelerate slightly in the quarters to come on statistical effects. On an annual basis, consumption will likely increase to remain a strong pillar of the economic growth in the absence of private investment rebound, Maliszewski said. Construction firms are unlikely to maintain the expected high Q1 pace of investments due to limited labor supply and very high capacity utilization, the economist also believes.
