The housing market has slowed; Q2 sales numbers show that double-digit growth rates are a thing of the past.
H1 sales are up 2.5% year on year, down from a 9% rate of growth in Q1. The decline in sales in large cities was offset by a clear rise in prices, according to Katarzyna Kuniewicz of the REAS agency.
Rising prices, an effect of rising costs, are now the barrier to faster sales. Price growth is now double-digit in such cities as Bydgoszcz, Szczecin and Olsztyn, data from domiporta.pl shows.
Prices are up 5% year on year in Warsaw.
