Rate setter on MPC's strategy

Kamil Zubelewicz
Poland's rate council should launch a tightening cycle as the latest inflation projection provides "strong arguments" for launching rate hikes, MPC member Kamil Zubelewicz told Bloomberg.
Rate setters should switch to a more restrictive rhetoric, a necessary precondition for considering and voting over a rate hike "possibly when base inflation exceeds 2%," he remarked, while adding that keeping rates on a stable level heightens the risk of exceeding the inflation target "lastingly" post-2020.
