Less new companies

Stanislaw Gomulka
The number of newly registered companies dropped year on year by 700 to 22,700 in H1, Puls Biznesu writes citing data from court register KRS.
The decline could be partly tied to the tightening of the tax system as a lot of companies used to be set up with the view of tax fraud, head of business information center COIG Jaroslaw Nawrotek said.
On the other hand, chief economist of business lobby BCC Stanislaw Gomulka believes the decline could be linked to higher legal and political risks but underlines it is too early to speak of a trend.
