Sofitel & the Baltic Opera partnership

Sofitel Hotels & Resorts, a luxury brand from AccorHotels' portfolio, inaugurated its partnership with the Baltic Opera's “French Season” in Poland. The Baltic Opera in Gdansk is one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the north of the country. The Opera's current season is a perfect match for Sofitel’s art de vivre and brand’s culture pillar.
The Baltic Opera is the biggest opera house in the north of Poland, located in the city of Gdansk, which together with neighboring Gdynia and picturesque resort town of Sopot make up a bustling Tricity. It is here in Sopot, that the most fashionable Baltic health resort in Poland is located - the iconic Sofitel Grand Sopot, situated right next to a gorgeous beach. Opened in 1927, it has charmed its visitors with an elegant blend of historical beauty and modern French style for more than 90 years.
The Baltic Opera’s current French Season has been planned in accordance with the concept that each artistic season is inspired by the European culture of a different country. It involves spectacles by French composers, guest soloists and musicians performances, as well as numerous French culture related artistic and educational events.
The Director of the Baltic Opera, Prof. Warcis³aw Kunc emphasizes - “During the French Season, a collaboration with the Sofitel brand comes naturally. The values supported by the brand - culture, art, French style - fit perfectly into our artistic program.” And he adds - “Being a cultural institution, we want our viewers to perceive us as a creative, vibrant space in the Tricity that attracts new audiences. Our partnership with Sofitel helps us accomplish this mission.”
The French Season’s repertoire boasts premieres of great opera masterpieces such as Georges Bizet's "The Pearl Fishers" and ballet performances - including "The Nutcracker" choreographed by François Mauduit, or the recent operetta premiere of the timeless “Orpheus in the Underworld” by Jacques Offenbach. There is no shortage of other cultural activities: “French Night" concerts in the open air settings, photo exhibitions of the most charming regions of France as well as number of educational events for adults and children.
Sofitel is proud to be part of the Opera’s French Season and to share this cultural journey with its clients and partners through series of events co-organized with the Opera: Elite Experiences for Le Club members, international clients’ events or media trips.
This passionate relationship between Sofitel and the Opera will also be expressed during the upcoming Fête de la Musique, the great music feast celebrated by the brand around the globe. Sofitel hotels in Poland are preparing for that day a real treat – visiting artists from the Baltic Opera will perform in the hotels’ interiors to celebrate together the music day and mark the unique Partnership.
For many years Sofitel, has been an ambassador of modern French style, culture and art de vivre all over the world. Sofitel hotels in Poland: Warsaw, Wroclaw and Sopot, have been actively promoting this brand passion with concerts, exhibitions and meetings with artists organized in hotel premises over many years. The current Partnership with the Baltic Opera’s French Season is a continuation of this tradition that comes naturally for the brand that offers its guests a genuine experience of the French culture and art de vivre.
