Tax reliefs for patriotic video games
Poland's planned bill on tax reliefs for video game developers promoting national heritage in their productions is expected to be passed before end-2018 and come into life in 2019, but precise dates cannot be offered at this stage, the daily Puls Biznesu wrote citing Ministry of Culture's spokesperson Anna Bocian.
A special unit within the ministry will likely administer the so-called culture tests that will encompass both game concepts and end products, Bocian added.
The initiative has already received some nods of approval from the domestic video game producers, including the blue-chip CD Projekt and its smaller peer 11 bit studios.
CD Projekt is unable to say at this point whether it will try to secure the tax reliefs, CEO Adam Kicinski told the daily.
