Analyst on election dates
Ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) may benefit from PM Mateusz Morawiecki's decision slating a potential second round of the local elections for November 4, according to election campaign consultant Michal Kabacinski.
PiS supporters are more disciplined and therefore more likely to show up at the ballot box on that day than liberal opposition supporters, who may be tempted to take time off after All Saints' Day on November 1.
The picked election dates also give the opposition less time to discuss potential cooperation after the first round scheduled for October 21.
