Poland's President Andrzej Duda and the US leader Donald Trump will likely discuss possible ways to prevent the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, the daily Rzeczpospolita wriote on the planned visit of Duda to the US in September.
The US are "very likely" to decide in favor of imposing sanctions on the companies involved in the Nord Stream 2 project, the daily added of own findings.
Duda will also bring up the topic of converting Poland's LNG terminal in Swinoujscie into a hub for transporting the American LNG to the entire CEE region, according to the daily.
The presidential talks are also expected to concern establishing US permanent military bases in Poland. The warming in the US-Poland relations comes on the back of Poland's consistent support for Americans in their contentious issues with France and Germany, as well as Warsaw's backing out of the controversial anti-defamation law.
