French foreign minister on Poland in the EU

Jean-Yves Le Drian
The Polish government may find it difficult to negotiate a favorable shape of the EU budget pool for years 2020-2027, as the French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian criticised countries that have utilitarian approach to the union, cherry picking what is in their interest, mostly money tranfers, Gazeta Wyborcza wrote, noting that the French official likely meant Poland and Hungary.
France is not ready to pay for such Europe, Le Drian said, as cited by the daily. Poland, with its recently earned disrepute, will find its negotiating position substantially weakened, GW claimed.
