Supreme audit chamber on smog prevention
Polish government, including the ministries of energy and environment, took insufficient steps in 2014-2017 to remedy the country's pressing problem of smog, attributed mostly to the poor quality of coal for domestic combustion, the daily Parkiet wrote of the report by the supreme audit chamber NIK that it accessed.
The recent project concerning new norms for coal, submitted for cabinet debate in February 2018, puts the interests of the coal lobby above the natural environment and needs of citizens, NIK said in the report.
