New burdens for energy firms
Polish energy firms could lose some PLN 2.4 to 3.0 billion were they to fully heed a quiet demand from the Energy Ministry that they hold off on requesting a power price increase for households, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna wrote on estimates of 30 TWh usage and PLN 80 to 100 / MWh cost.
The average bill would need to rise PLN 50 monthly for the industry to maintain its earnings status quo and the companies understand the request as an election year political matter.
