Compensation fund idea dropped

Piotr Nowak
The Polish government dropped plans to set up a compensation fund for those affected by corporate bonds' misselling due to doubts as to some of the solutions, deputy Finance Minister Piotr Nowak wrote in a comment before the cabinet sitting, at which a draft bill tightening financial market supervision was adopted.
The proposal to set up a compensation fund met with criticism of experts who pointed out that it could increase investors' risk appetite and reduce their willingness to closely analyze planned investments.
