Poland to pay more to EIB
Poland is ready to increase its financial contribution to the coffers of the European Investment Bank following the upcoming Brexit, and thus strengthen the position of its representative in the bank's Governors Council and possibly compete for one of the eight deputy chairman positions next year, the daily Rzeczpospolita wrote.
The idea was blocked September 6 by the Council, as other EU member states would rather boost EBI's financial resources by conversion of reserves to capital, a move that would disproportionately increase the influences of Germany, France and Italy in the bank.
Poland, in turn, will now try to block that proposal.
