Polish-Danish energy summit

Denmark hopes to benefit from plans to build a Baltic pipe from Norwegian North Sea gas fields to Poland by utilizing fees to help reduce retail power costs while still increasing bio-gas in its domestic mix, Danish officials indicated at an energy summit between the two nations.
The Danes would also gladly invest in wind power off the Polish coast. Poland is in the project, and footing the biggest chunk of the EUR 1.6 billion investment, to increase energy security by diversifying supply routes, Polish officials added.
Poland assures that the Danish approval for the Baltic Pipe project is not conditional on the presence of Danish offshore projects on the Polish territory of the Baltic Sea, according to a comment delivered in Copenhagen by Polish Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchorzewski.
