Left-wing opposition party SLD intends to submit a draft law on nonmarital relationships pertaining to both heterosexual and homosexual couples, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza reports.
The draft is based on the French model. According to the proposal, life partners would be able to sign a contract allowing them to pay taxes together, inherit from each other, and adopt the other partner's child if he/she dies.
The draft is expected to arouse public debate on the issue, SLD MP Katarzyna Piekarska said.
