Poland's Constitutional Tribunal's decision that gender-based differentiation of retirement age (60 for women, 65 for men) did not violate the constitution, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza reports.

The decision follows the recently aroused concern of former deputy labor Minister Agnieszka Chlon-Dominczak, employers organization PKPP Lewiatan head Jeremi Mordasewicz and the female members of the tribunal.

Mordasewicz called the potential effects of retaining the differentiation as catastrophic for the state budget.

The tribunal agreed the current solution was not optimal and decided to advise the parliament to introduce legislation gradually erasing the difference.
