Poland may have to change the bill regulating competencies of special parliamentary investigation committees thus blocking the currently active ones, if the European Court of Human Rights considers the complaint filed by Lew Rywin.

Rywin was an actor in the first case examined by an investigation committee in 2003, as justified, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna writes.

Rywin questioned the right of committees to conduct their TV-transmitted hearings parallelly to investigations of state prosecutors.

Special investigation committees are being criticized for little efficiency, while only four latest (out of the total eight) cost PLN 700k.
