The Forbes Music Lovers’ Club Inaugural Charity Concert - Recital by Ewa Pob³ocka will take place on 17 September 2012, 8 p.m., at the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera’s Moniuszko Auditorium.

The star of the evening will be the world-famous pianist Ewa Pob³ocka, of whom Die Welt wrote: “Extraordinary things went on in the concert hall. Ewa Pob³ocka proved her artistry throughout the programme. I do not hesitate to count her among the greatest pianists produced by her country and not only”. The pianist will open the concert with a joint performance with the first finalist of the Maestro Foundation Programme, the violinist Sabina Ko³odziej.

The Forbes Music Lovers’ Club is a series of closed charity events involving leading figures from the classical music world and a select group from the Polish business community.

The idea behind the project is to create a closed business lobby around a charitable goal as well as developing a tradition of small-scale charity meetings. The entire proceeds go towards buying professional-quality instruments.

The Maestro Foundation is an organization whose primary aim is to help outstanding young artists by financing the purchase of professional-quality instruments, and also to bring the business world closer to the cultural community.

The Foundation’s Honorary Patrons are persons and organizations of public trust. So far, the group of Honorary Patrons includes Ewa Pob³ocka, Andrzej Seweryn, Antoni Wit, Zbigniew Niemczycki as well as the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan and Forbes Magazine.

The Foundation was established by Joanna Twardowska-Or³o¶ and Karolina Baliñska. The founders are also the organization’s president and vice-president. The Foundation’s beneficiaries are outstanding students of music academies, winners of national and international competitions and scholarships.

This year the Maestro Foundation presented Sabina Ko³odziej, a student of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, with a violin made in the Hopf family violin-making workshop at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
