Simone's Body” written and directed by crtitics lauded Krystian Lupa will be show at the Dramatyczny Theater on March 9 and 10. Persona: Simone is part number two of a triptych devoted to intriguing personalities - three iconic figures of the 290th century: Marilyn Monroe, Simone Weil and George Gurdjieff. In Persona: Simone Lupa does not present Weil’s biography – he rather creates on stage a mystic mixture of fantasy and reality inspired by life and work of the French thinker. Her extraordinary personality and cognitive experiments provide a mirror for people to examine their own existential approach. By confronting Weil's experience, Lupa offers both the actors and the audience a form of spiritual adventure and of exposure; an exceptional journey into oneself. The plot takes place in an abandoned film studio which serves as a rehearsal space for a play about Weil. The main character was to be played by Elżbieta Vogler, an actress borrowed from Ingmar Bergman's Persona who retreated into madness thirty years earlier.
