The Children of Noisy Village at Syrena Theater
date:Wednesday, 04 May 2016
End date:Thursday, 05 May 2016
category:spectacle for children
Place:Syrena Theatre

A play based on a popular Swedish book for children “The Children of Noisy Village” (Polish title: Dzieci z Bullerbyn) is played at Warsaw’s Syrena Theater.

Children as well as adults around the world are familiar with a story of a bunch of kids from the village of Bullerby, which consists of only three houses. The now classic novel by Sweden’s Astrid Lindgren has been adapted for the stage by Ewelina and Krzysztof Jaślar.

Seen through the eyes of seven-year-old Lisa, the colorful world from the novel has been brought to life at the Syrena Theater with considerable help from children, who took part in acting workshops during the rehearsals. The play features a fine cast of young Polish actors and, interestingly, director Krzysztof Jaślar has given all the adult roles to just two actors. Like with most of its other productions, the Syrena Theater has spiced up the new play with song and dance, including popular children’s tunes.
