Closely watched trains at Dramatyczny Theater
date:Friday, 22 September 2017
End date:Sunday, 24 September 2017
Place:Theatre of Wola

”Closely watched trains”, Bohumil Hrabal’s postwar classic about a young man's coming of age in German-occupied Czechoslovakia made into a theater play, is shown at the Dramatyczny Theater in Warsaw.
The play, directed by Jakub Krofta, tells a story of Milosz Pipka (played by Otar Saralidze), a timid railroad apprentice who insulates himself with fantasy against a reality filled with cruelty and grief. Day after day as he watches trains fly by, he torments himself with the suspicion that he himself is being watched and with fears of impotency. Pipka finally affirms his manhood and, with a sense of peace and purpose he has never known before, heroically confronts a trainload of Nazis.
The play is shown on the Na Woli Stage, Kasprzaka street
