Housing Construction on PKP-Owned Land

7 June 2006

The state rail carrier PKP and PKO Inwestycje have signed a declaration of cooperation for the implementation of residential construction projects in areas owned by the rail operator. PKO Inwestycje will contribute valuable experience to organizing the investment process, organizing and enlisting financing for projects and analyzing their feasibility. The partners plan to set up joint venture companies to carry out further projects. These companies will own the real estate on which the investments will be carried out. Residential complexes are planned in Warsaw, Gdańsk, £ód¼ and Poznań. In the near future, the two companies will prepare a detailed list of properties that will be utilized in their joint activities. PKP will provide its technical and legal documentation, architectural concepts and an analysis of the areas in question in terms of how many projects they can accommodate.
PKP owns an impressive 93,000 lots with a total area of 109,000 hectares and 43,000 buildings with a total usable space of 6 million square meters.
