Gar Who?

28 February 2003

Warsaw audiences will have two opportunities to attend concerts by Canadian singer Garou-at Kongresowa Hall March 1 and at Torwar Arena March 4. Garou gave his first concert in Poland during the Sopot Festival last year. According to the media, his performance was one of the most important events in the history of the festival. This time, the artist and his 20-strong team will arrive Feb. 24 in Wroc∏aw. A day later, Garou will hold an official press conference. He will also give a concert at Spodek Arena in Katowice.

The artist established his first band, The Windows and Doors, as a high-school student in Quebec. The group performed Beatles covers and Garou played the trumpet. After leaving school, Garou joined the Military Orchestra of the Canadian Army. In 1995, he established rhythm-and-blues band The Untouchables. Two years later, he was discovered by Luc Plamondon and cast as Quasimodo in the musical Notre-Dame de Paris.

Garou's Warsaw concerts on March 1 and 4 will start at 7 p.m. Tickets priced zl.100, 150, 180, 200, 260 and 340 are available at EMPiK stores and on line at www.bileteria.pl and www.ebilet.pl.
