ING Real Estate Development has started building the new Glivia housing estate in Gliwice, southern Poland. Comprising almost 600 high-standard apartments, the estate will cover around 4 hectares and will consist of 14 four-story residential buildings. The development process is to be divided into three phases. Glivia, designed by the Medusa Group, a well-know design studio based in Gliwice, is located in a green part of the city and is five minutes' drive from the center.
The architectural plans are centered on the military barracks built on the site in the late 19th century. The two old buildings will be incorporated into the residential complex. Natural materials-stone, brick and wood-will be used on this project and will be combined with large glazed surfaces. Elevators will be installed in all the buildings. Each apartment will have a balcony or terrace and some of the top-story apartments will have roof gardens. Floor spaces in the apartments will range from 35 sq m to 111 sq m. Glivia is the first project carried out by ING Real Estate Development in Silesia.
