Wieteska is a photographer, cinematographer and film director. Since 1986 he has traveled to Australia, North Africa, the Middle East, Western Europe, Japan and the United States. The trips resulted in individual photo projects: Paris-Decline; Reality; Far West; Tokyo; and N.Y.C. #02. Images from the latter will be presented at the CSW until the end of August.
The pictures from the New York series were intended as a kind of essay, with much focus on realism and the faithful rendition of color. The photos show residents of New York, the city's architecture and everyday situations-an arresting juxtaposition of forms, colors and shapes.
Wieteska is a photographer appreciated in Poland and abroad. He is now working on a series titled Poland 1986-2004. Apart from successes in photography, he is a recognized director of commercials, winning prizes at Kreatura '95, Pinnacle DDB '98, Agfa Szansa Pro '98 and Złote Orły 2000.
