Reflections on Identity 23 February 2010 The Center for Contemporary Art (CSW) in Warsaw is hosting an exhibition of the newest work by Hanna Łuczak, one of the most fascinating multimedia Polish artists of her generation. Entitled Russian Roulette, the exhibition comprises three installations created over the past several years and involving drawings and photographs. They are Strings (2008) with text and over 100 drawings and photographs, Mimicry (2007) comprising a dozen large-format photographs, and To and Fro (2007), an installation with mirrors. Visitors to the gallery can also see two of Łuczak's latest works, a cartoon installation called Viva la Fantom and the titular Russian Roulette.
Brussels Buys Polish Art 23 February 2010 The European Parliament has added ten works by Polish artists to its collection of contemporary art. In buying work for the collection, the European Parliament acts as an art patron and promotes the cultural legacy of Europe. The Polish exhibition at the European Parliament headquarters in Brussels was opened Jan. 25 by European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek.
Priceless Renaissance Ceramics Revealed 23 February 2010 An exhibition of priceless Renaissance masterpieces which have never previously been shown in Poland opens at the National Museum in Warsaw March 19. The items on display are maiolica istoriato, or tin-glazed pottery painted with historical and legendary scenes, and graphic works inspired by Rafael, the great master of the Italian Renaissance.
Chopin Smiles on Warsaw 23 February 2010 Warsaw's quirky Museum of Caricature will hold an exhibition entitled Chopin's Smile in June to coincide with the bicentenary of composer Frederic Chopin.
Grunwald Painting To Miss Anniversary 23 February 2010 Poland's most famous historical painting, The Battle of Grunwald by Jan Matejko, will miss the battle's 600th anniversary in July. Matejko's masterpiece is now so fragile that conservationists ruled the painting could not travel to Wawel Castle in Cracow, where it was due to be exhibited, and will instead be taken away for restoration.

Our Earth: Interactive Education 4 February 2010 The Palace of Culture and Science is hosting an interactive exhibition entitled Nasza Ziemia (Our Earth). Comprising three sections entitled Time of Ecosystems, Time of the Earth and Time of Man on the second, sixth and 30th floors, the exhibition is devoted to the main challenges in ecology facing contemporary Europe.
