LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

With regard to the recent reports on the transfer of some Dell manufacturing capacity to Poland, I must clarify that, contrary to suggestions in some recent Polish media coverage and discussion, the Irish Government has not lobbied the EU Commission against the state aid proposed by the Polish authorities for the extension of the Dell manufacturing facility in Łódź.
LETTER TO THE EDITOR

As a Canadian citizen I wanted to express to the Polish people my sincere apologies for the recent taser death of Polish citizen Robert Dziekański at our airport here in Vancouver.

On July 2, 2006, I returned from Poland after a business trip and on the plane I read and enjoyed your publication. I am of Irish descent and was born in New York City.

First, it's a simple walk to cross the Mexican border into America whereas it's a very long walk from Poland to the UK. Also the Mexican government encourages migration, legal or illegal, into America, so that the cost of social responsibilities are shifted from Mexico to American taxpayers.
Nick Knight

Poland is a source of cheap labor and nothing more. The United Kindom, like the United States operates on an exploit labor model, which is labor intensive. The United States does not take in million of "guest workers" as a act of kindness to Mexico.
Sweata Shah-Ostrowska

I have read the comments presented by your publication on the on going political battles between PIS and PO. As much as I might agree that the time is right for "getting on with the job" I do believe that press reporting on this matter should be as impartial as possible, presenting the facts, rather than one opinion as the case has been with some of the post election articles written in the WVoice.
Rick Fiala

Mayor Lech Kaczynski's refusal to give a legal permit to the organizers of the Equality Parade - and his attendant comments on gays - shows his profound ignorance and prejudice.
