Prof. Lech Czarnecki Deputy Rector Warsaw University of Technology
Building a knowledge-based society is a chance to improve the future of Poland. The Warsaw University of Technology (PW), the largest technology college in Poland, is making a significant contribution to this process. In line with its mission, it is an academic institution that produces educated people with broad horizons, aware of their own opinions and respecting others' viewpoints. So it not only shapes the students' minds, but also their character and creative attitudes; it imparts both knowledge and skills. Knowledge is best transferred by those who develop it at the same time, while skills-by those who have acquired them in practice. These tasks are performed with great commitment by more than 2,450 teachers, including 450 professors.
The Warsaw University of Technology is where ambitious students can realize their dreams in the field of technology. It offers them education in technology and administration, economics, management and marketing. It provides ideal conditions for learning the knowledge and skills needed for independent and creative research and work, with excellently equipped laboratories and a computerized library with more than 1 million volumes.
The University of Technology offers a congenial intellectual environment for creativity and versatility. Students have the opportunity to participate in numerous organizations and clubs, scientific circles and sports clubs. The Student in Theater, Great Music in the Small Auditorium of the Warsaw University of Technology and Poetry Evenings in Rector's Cafe programs are only some of the numerous extracurricular student activities available.
A new dimension of the university's activity is linked with Poland's European Union accession. We participate in all EU educational programs and cooperate with more than 160 colleges worldwide. We take part in the shaping of the European Education and Research Space.
The Warsaw University of Technology represents nearly 180 years of tradition focused on the future.
