Mierzeja Wiślana in Pomerania province, one of the most picturesque parts of the Polish coast, is a long and narrow spit of land separating the Bay of Gdańsk from the Vistula Lagoon. The northern part of the peninsula, surrounded by the Bay of Gdańsk, has splendid and wide sandy beaches with white dunes covered by aromatic pine forests. The pine scent combined with iodine contained in the sea breeze create a microclimate with therapeutic properties like that of health resorts.
The eastern part of the peninsula is surrounded in the south by the calm waters of the Vistula Lagoon, which is rich in fish and offers excellent conditions for sailing and ice boating. The small town of Krynica Morska is located in this part of the peninsula. The charm of this place is the result of harmony between land and water, forest and open space, and peace and quiet contrasted with the power of the waves.
Krynica Morska means not only nature but also history. One can see here a complex of old villas and guest houses built before World War II and a lighthouse, one of the few on the Polish coast open to visitors. While in Krynica Morska, one can take a trip to Frombork and Elbląg by boat, to Kaliningrad by hydrofoil and to Gdańsk, Malbork or Cormorant Reserve in Kąty Rybackie by road.
