Nocturne

22 October 2005

It’s midnight at the editorial office of The Warsaw Voice/Gazeta. The final, 12th issue is being produced. It must be printed within a few hours so that it can reach readers’ hands before the Laureates’ Concert. The last “newsbreaking” stories are arriving, with the night-owl translator wearily waiting for them. Artistic supervisor Magda Jonas picks the final photo from a selection taken by Dominik Skurzak. After all, the winner deserves an exposure worthy of the Chopin Award. Staszek Mazur issues a warning that there is no time left because the printers are waiting. Just a last-minute correction of the final details, a “bird’s eye” view by head “Chopinista” Jan Popis of the whole kit and caboodle and...enjoy your reading! All this is for you, Dear Reader. Thank you for having been with us throughout the 15th Competition. We look forward to seeing you again in five years.
